Everest Marathon

Everest Base Camp Trek quite commitments, so that you can imagine how athletes do it on the run? In November 13th Everest Marathon will take place and the trail from Namche Bazar to Everest base camp will have a knock on his sneakers, and not the usual hiking boots.

Everest Marathon is not a normal marathon. At altitudes of from three hundred to five hundred meters above sea level, which is the highest in the world. This distinguishes it from other current events. First of all, the terrain, unlike asphalt and paving more traditional marathons. The route is rugged terrain, as well as rugged, corrugated dirt tracks. Secondly, the race angle, as you would expect from the race, which begins in a few hours’ walk from the base camp of Mount Everest. Fee Gorak Shep is the starting point, at an altitude of 5184 meters. The route then descends mainly along the Everest Base Camp Trek route to Namche Bazar, a village Mountain Sherpa on 3446 meters. This means, at least, that the race is basically down, but with some steep slopes and uneven terrain, the race in the region fell more than a marathon runner.
